Plant more trees for less

The Trust’s subsidised tree packs make it easier and more affordable for you to grow your own UK-native trees and reap the many rewards they provide. From improved shelter and soil health to increased security and boosted biodiversity, trees are a valuable, hard-working asset to any property. Transform your land from as little as 46p per tree and enjoy the benefits for years to come.

Choose the right pack for your land

This is key. Packs range from 15–210 trees and, where possible, Woodland Trust tries to match tree provenance to your location.

Plant a hero hedge

Hedges do far more than just shelter wildlife. They’re a great way to protect your livelihood as they establish shade for livestock, shield crops from windblow, provide game bird cover and add an extra layer of security to your property. The Trust’s non-toxic horse and livestock hedgerow pack creates a strong, shrubby hedgerow between 15–30 metres (49–98 feet) in length. Select a tree species to grow through the hedge, increasing height and providing much-needed food for birds, butterflies and insects.

Regenerate the countryside

Woods and trees are under threat. The targeting tree disease pack helps you restore crucial woodland or hedgerows affected by diseases such as Dutch elm and ash dieback. Each pack contains 45 cell-grown saplings from three native tree species, carefully selected from varieties well-suited to replacing diseased trees: English oak, silver birch, wild cherry, common beech, hornbeam and rowan. Simply choose your mix, plant your saplings and let nature thrive.

Perfect for working land

Shelterbelt tree packs create a hardy 10 x 125-metre (33 x 82 ft) shelterbelt, using tree species selected for larger plots of land. Mix your 210 saplings at random or enhance their value for wildlife by planting smaller shrubs along one edge to create a graded woodland. Whether you’re looking to create shelter for livestock or support game management, this pack offers a practical, environmentally friendly solution. Regional varieties are available.

Other subsidised tree packs include the plant for pollinators pack and urban tree pack, ideal for large home gardens or community settings.

Planting season is here

Tree planting season runs between October and March. Woodland Trust always recommends planting during this time as trees are dormant and less likely to get damaged. This practice also gives trees a chance to develop a robust root system before the busy spring flush. To enhance your saplings’ defence against mammal browsing, harsh winds and drought, consider adding tree protection – such as tubes and stakes – to your purchase.

Place your Woodland Trust subsidised tree pack order today and enjoy free delivery in around two weeks. Huge impact, less cost.
