    1. Cobham’s Ulices (O Walter) 53.75%

    Oliver Walter, riding his mother’s Cobham Ulices (pictured right) ended up being the only competitor in the Prelim 13. A couple of cheeky little bucks brought the former broodmare’s score down, but she made up for it in her next test.

    Prelim 16 qualifier

    1. Cobham’s Ulices (O Walter) 61.0%
    2. Baco (A Adam) 56.5%

    With the bucks now under control, Cobham’s Ulices performed a better test in the second of her prelims to give Oliver his second win.

    Novice 36

    1. Fabers Pocahontas (S Smith) 68.8%
    =2. Intrigue II (R Flatzo) 60.0%
    =2. Vancouver (A Keyser) 60.0%

    Goudhurst based owner/rider Sara Smith rode a very neat and tidy test to score an impressive 68.8% in her first class of the day.

    Novice 37 qualifer

    1. Fabers Pocahontas (S Smith) 67.14%
    2. Preston V (L Courenco) 63.93%
    3. Just Foxy (L Anderson) 62.5%

    True to form, Sara rode another good test to achieve her second win of the day, judged by Bridget Beresford-Wright.

    Elementary 41

    1. Dot Com (C Waterman) 65.6%
    2. Crown Cavalier (A Ford) 62.4%
    3. Double Idemnity (T White) 62.0%

    Regular competitor Andy Ford secured a close second place on his own 11-year-old part-bred Thoroughbred gelding, but was pipped to the post by Clare Waterman.

    Elementary 43 qualifier

    1. Tio II (A Barten) 70.34%
    2. Market Design (V Whittaker) 70.0%
    3. Welt Fuchs (E Hopkins) 66.55%

    Alison Barten, riding her own Tio II, was the highest scorer of the day, with Victoria Whittaker close behind. Both ladies regularly compete at Cobham Manor and it was great to see them achieve such high scores.
