By popular demand, Scottish Sport Horse is extending its young horse finals to an extra day (21-22 October).
The society introduced potential dressage horses last year and these proved so popular that breeders have requested a separate dressage day on the Sunday. This will allow the organisers to include warm-up classes for the Morayfirth and Stallions Direct-sponsored four- and five-year-old potential dressage horse finals. There will also be six-year-old and freestyle to music classes.
The opening day begins with in-hand and ridden performance pony classes. These will be judged as sport horse classes, but with special awards for best handler, junior, intermediate, senior and mountain and moorland entries.
The four- and five-year-old potential sport horse classes take place in the afternoon. These are judged on conformation, movement and jumping ability. The finale will be the Scottish and Northern Equestrian Three-Year-Old Loose Jumping Championship.
