Can you help trace these stolen horses?


  • Police appealing for the return of an elderly deaf and blind horse,plus his companion, stolen from a field in Tadworth, Surrey

    A month has now passed since the 26-year-old mare anda six-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding, were taken from their field off Bonsor Drive in Tadworth.

    Extensive searches of surrounding stables, slaughterhouses and markets have so far yielded nothing.

    The mare is a 15.2hh dark bay, with a 5ins vertical scar between her eyes and a barely visible freeze brand on her saddle area.

    The gelding, a former racehorse, has two white socks on his hind legs.

    Concern is growing for the mare as she is frailand her owners had taken the decision to put her down before the onset of winter. Neither of the horses can be ridden and are field companions.

    The two were taken from their field sometime between Friday 23 and Saturday 24 August.

    PC Rachel Barber from Reigate Police said: “If anyone knows anything about the disappearance of these two horses then I would urge them to get in touch with me as soon as possible.”
