The horse behind the brand
Clare purchased Blue Chip (aka ‘Blue’) as a 3 year old from a local advert she found in the Yorkshire Post .
‘Blue’ was a very poor and very naughty youngster, but he moved beautifully and Clare fell in love with his part-bred Arab, part-bred thoroughbred and part-bred warmblood breeding.
When Clare first brought ‘Blue’ home he was so dirty that she didn’t even know his tail was white until she gave him a bath.
‘Blue’ was an unruly youngster that became a champion show horse, qualifying for the RIHS and HOYS every year with numerous placings. He also won the best trained show horse many times at Royal Windsor and the National Championships. As well as being a champion large riding horse, ‘Blue’ also won numerous championships as a part-bred Arab, including the Amateur Cherif Championship.
Clare originally named ‘Blue’ Blue Chip because it meant the highest quality and a sound investment. Her company was then named Blue Chip Feed as Clare knew there was no better foundation for her company to start on, with quality being her highest priority.
‘Blue’ inspired Clare to seek a better way of feeding horses and acted as the guinea pig for the original trial product.
Since launching more than 16 years ago, Blue Chip Feed has strived to deliver the best quality product to its customers, helping horses lead happy, healthy lives.
This special promotion is being offered to celebrate the horse behind the brand and the acknowledge the grass roots from which this internationally renowned brand has grown.
