Rider breaks back in fall at Cheshire Show
Ambulances were called to Cheshire Show twice on Tuesday, the organisers have confirmed.
The air ambulance took Amanda Peet, of Cockermouth, Cumbria, to Withenshaw Hospital after she was bucked off in the warm-up area at 7.20am.
A spokesman for the show said they heard later that she had suffered concussion and a broken hand.
And later the same day Amy Mitten, of Lower Peover, Cheshire had a fall in the large hack class.
Amy was rushed to Wythenshawe Hospital and following an X-ray and MRI scan it was confirmed she had broken her back.
Her mother Kathy said: “Amy is absolutely devastated as she has qualified all three of her horses for the Royal International and will be unable to compete which is very sad.”
A horse also died during the inter-hunt relay.
