The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has announced that its new chief executive will be Paul Bittar, former chief strategy officer for Racing Victoria in Australia.

The 41-year-old accountant will take over the job – in January 2012 – from Chris Brand, who has been acting chief executive since Nic Coward’s departure last March.
