Dressage rider Isabell Werth’s sponsor Uvex is bringing its range of riding hats to the UK.
The German manufacturer’s riding helmets have been available in Europe for four years and have become “the new ‘must have’ for the discerning, sporting, fashion conscious athelete”, says the company.
The BSI kitemarked range of riding hats and safety eyewear will be distributed in the UK by Zebra Products.
“[Uvex] bring new technology and design at the highest level to the equestrian market, applying their vast extreme sporting knowledge to the protection of riders at all levels,” said Simon Middleton, managing director of Zebra Products.
Uvex safety helmets use a “fitting system”, the IAS 3D system, which means that the depth of their helmets can be adjusted.
To introduce the brand to the UK, Uvex will be taking selected retailers on an all expenses paid visit to Isabell Werth’s yard in Germany.
Isabell, who promotes the wearing of safety hats in dressage, appeared at competitions wearing a gold Uvex crash helmet when she was first sponsored by the company in 2011.
