  • Equimins has a new range of Straight Herbs to its range of herbal products for horses.

The range of natural products includes tumeric, chamomile flowers, dandelion leaves, milk thistle seed, rosehips and slippery elm.

Equimins includes herbs in many of the company’s products but has launched the new range to meet the growing demand for ‘straight herbs.’

“Herbs are become more popular,” said David Willey, managing director of Equimins. “They’re natural and can be very useful when it comes to supporting the body.”

The company lists the health properties of each herb on the bag.

Hawthorn leaves are said to support the heart and improve a horse’s blood circulation; liquorice root is said to aid liver function and to be beneficial to the respiratory tract.

Marigold flowers are said to help skin conditions and digestion and meadowsweet leaves to aid mobility in veteran horses.

Raspberry leaves are a natural herb that can help moody mares, and seaweed can add lustre to a coat and help improve hoof condition.

There are several herbs said to help digestion including slippery elm powder, spearmint and chamomile flowers (which are also naturally calming).

Others including Devils claw and tumeric, which are popular for helping relieve joint discomfort.

Herbs especially brewers years and spearmint can also help with weight gain said Equimins.

The herbs are available in 500gs and 1 kg bags with prices starting at £3.
