Young wizardry comes to HOYS

  • Around 30 members ofthe Cheshire North branch of the Pony Club will be producing a spectacular mystical musical display of synchronised riding and horsemanship at this year’s Horse of the Year Show at the NEC, Birmingham (17-21 September).

Entitled “The Magical World of Horses”, and sponsored by equestrian clothing company Harry Hall, the mystical ride will provide an enchanting experience for audiences each night of the show.

Through a combination of skill, practise and special effects, the show is set to be a unique example of equestrian theatre. This year will see a fresh intake of children who have been rehearsing the new display for months, and they have a lot to live up to following their stunning performance in 2000.

“We wanted to do something that was completely different to the military style display we put on three years ago,” said district commissioner, Psyche Kennerly.

“The children are certainly exited about it. It’s meant a lot of hard work, practice and commitment on their part and they’ve been more than equal to everything that has been asked of them.”
