Team GB medallists will parade at Olympia

Team GB fans will have a chance to applaud our triumphant World Equestrian Games (WEG) medallists next month, during a parade at Olympia, The London International Horse Show.

Just after 8pm on Thursday, 16 December, the eventing, dressage, para-equestrian dressage and vaulting teams and individuals who brought home 19 WEG medals between them will parade in the arena.

Team GB leader Will Connell said: “It’s been a phenomenal year for our equestrian stars — not only the senior teams.”

Joining the WEG medallists will be Team GB’s young riders, who have also enjoyed great success in Europe this year.

Dressage rider Laura Bechtolsheimer, who made history this autumn with her individual silver medals in the kür and special, said she is looking forward to the teams getting together again.

“It is always a great atmosphere at Olympia and it will be great to parade in front of a home crowd — which is always enthusiastic there,” she said. “It’ll let us relive the moment.”

The full list of riders currently planning to take part in the parade are:

World eventing team: Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King, Nicola Wilson, Yogi Breisner (Chef d’Equipe)

European eventing young rider team: Laura Collett, Emily Llewellyn, Tom McEwen, Emily Parker, Alex Colquhoun (Chef)

European eventing pony team: Sophie Beaty, Alfie Bradstock, Sam Ecroyd, Grace Walker, Ginnie Keen (Chef)

European eventing junior individual: Tim Rogers, Gill Watson (Chef)

World dressage team: Fiona Bigwood, Maria Eilberg, Carl Hester, Richard Waygood (Chef)

World para-equestrian dressage individuals: Ricky Balshaw, Sophie Christiansen, Anne Dunham, Lee Pearson, Jo Pitt, Emma Sheardown, Sophie Wells, David Hunter (Chef)

European showjumping children on horses team: Millie Allen, Christie Pritchard, Katie Robertson, Jake Saywell, Corinne Bracken (Chef),

Youth Olympic games showjumping team: Carian Scudamore

World vaulting individual female/open european vaulting pas de deux: Joanne Eccles, Hannah Eccles, John Eccles, Lucy Bell (Chef)
