  • Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a horseshoe — the new motto for equestrian brides this wedding season.

Blacksmith Sally Fraser has designed the perfect accessory in which a bride can carry her bouquet down the aisle — a horseshoe heart.

The shoes are made from lightweight aluminium to make sure that the bride can walk with ease.

As well as the bouquet holders, Sally also makes single or double hearts — from shoes of your favourite steed past or present — as decorations (above).

“I made my first one when I sold my big horse and wanted one of his shoes displayed tastefully in the house,” Sally told H&H. “Then I advertised on my Facebook page and got a lot of interest.”

Single hearts start from £25. For brides wishing to add a little bit of luck to their special day, the lightweight wedding version costs from £40.

All you need to do is make sure you remove the shoe before throwing the bouquet!
