Help for new horsebox test

  • A website is offering horsebox owners help in understanding the new tachograph tests, which will be introduced on 1 April

The Organisation of Horsebox and Trailer Owners hasdedicated a section of its newly revamped website to help horse owners understand the new legislation on tachographs.

Managing director of the organisation, Jon Phillips. said: “These regulations will not affect private owners at all.

“But owners will need to know how to apply for exemption.

“We include a downloadable exemption form on our site.

“There is also a simplified summary of the regulations and a series of “frequently asked questions” that should cover most problems.

He said that anyone who uses a horsebox for “hire or reward” would not be exempt and would need a working tachograph and an operator’s licence.

OHTO’s website www.horsebox-rescue.co.ukalso includes a route finder to helpyou find your way to a show.
