Farewell to prominent owner-breeder


  • Pamela Gormley died at home on 21 July, aged 97.

    Mrs Gormley bred and owned the four-star event horse Master Question from her 13.2hh mare Jana.

    “Mac” was ridden at Boekelo by Celia Ross-Taylor and was in the money at Badminton and Burghley with Julian Seaman.

    Mrs Gormley competed in Golden Horseshoe rides, judged dressage and was active with the Pony Club.

    In 2003, she was presented with the Golden Jubilee Medal by the British Horse Society, rewarding over 50 years’ membership and service.

    She is survived by her son Mike and grandsons Bruce and Angus.
