Farewell to Pony Club polo chairman Buff Crisp


  • Buff Crisp, the former Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) secretary and Pony Club polo chairman, has died. He was 83.

    Buff died on Wednesday, 16 October and his funeral was held on Tuesday, 22 October.

    Buff was chairman of Pony Club polo between 1977 and 1989, and the secretary of the HPA between 1989 and 2000.

    Pony Club polo chairman Theresa Hodges said: “Buff had a lifelong focus on innovation and improvements, and the foundations he laid for junior polo in the UK allowed it to expand exponentially and thrive. Buff always had words of encouragement and wisdom for everyone.”
