Eventers tackle Tough Mudder in memory of Benjamin Winter
Event riders are used to contending with mud and tricky obstacles.
But earlier this month a team of friends — including eventers Dani Evans and Tom McEwen — took on Tough Mudder in memory of German rider Benjamin Winter, who was killed in a rotational fall at Luhmühlenon on 14 June.
The group battled through a 12-mile obstacle course — facing thick mud and electric shocks — in Cirencester Park (16 August) to raise money for the air ambulance.
“It was a great experience, but it was as hard as I imagined it would be,” Dani told H&H.
“The worst part was the ice challenge, where you have to go through a skip of ice, and the electric shocks, but it was really fun too — and Ben was always up for anything.”
