British event rider plans to dye Badminton-bound horse pink

  • A British event rider plans to dye her Badminton-bound horse pink to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Emma Hyslop will dye her four-star horse Waldo III (Wally) pink from mane to tail if she can generate 30,000 likes likes, shares and retweets throughout her social media pages.

Emma hopes that challenge will raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Now.

“As the eventing season is now over for 2015, we thought the winter months would be a great time to give something back and also have a little fun with our social media pages in the process,” said Emma.

“Wally is a highly respected horse in the eventing world so we thought this would give us the most exposure to help us raise our target. He is also a very white horse so the pink will show up well.

“Wally is competing for Team GBR in Italy in early February so the dye may not all be out for his show appearance.”

The social media challenge began on 19 October and all of Emma’s social media pages, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were restarted. It will close on 20 December.

“We need to spread the word of #comeonletsdyewallypink in support of Breast Cancer Now,” added Emma.

“Courtesy of our existing sponsors we have organised goodybags as prizes for the likes/shares/retweets/donations we are given. The winners will be chosen at random and each bag worth over £50.”
