Bicton College to host careers day for students

  • Bicton College’s equestrian centre is holding a careers day on 10 December for prospective students.

There will be the opportunity to view the facilities, a full run-down of courses on offer as well as chats with existing students and staff.

Bicton also offers a “January start” for January 2012. Students are invited to come and discuss their options at the careers event.

Bicton College in Devon has recently been the recipient of a significant grant from the Skills Funding Agency and part of this money will be used in the refurbishment and improvement of equine facilities – including upgrading to an international-sized dressage arena with a viewing gallery to seat more than 100 people. And there will be two new classrooms with video links to the arena cameras for interactiveteaching.

“Student numbers are increasing and our extended facilities will enable us to hold even more events, attracting competitors from across the country,” said Alex Robinson-Barr from Bicton.

“The indoor arena also serves the local riding community and the college will provide abetter facility for these clubs’ training requirements.”
