  • Nineteen-times champion jump jockey AP McCoy has secured a spot in the Guinness Book of Records 2015.

The 60th anniversary edition of the record-breaking book is available in shops on Thursday (11 September).

AP’s record of 4,106 wins between 26 March 1992 and 26 April 2014 put him well ahead of the field.

The jockey already holds the record for the most racing wins in a season with 289 in 2001-2002, and for the most champion jump jockey titles. He has won the title a record-breaking 19 times.

Other sporting stars featured in the 2015 edition includes Brian O’Driscoll — for the most international appearances in rugby union — and tennis player Roger Federer, who is the most powerful sports star.

Portugese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record for the most champions league goals in a calendar year.
