SQP of the Year announced at BETA International

  • This year’s SQP (Suitably Qualified Person) of the year title was awarded to Simon Wetherald at the British Equestrian Trade Association’s (BETA) annual fair, BETA International, last month.

Simon — who is based in Leeds — owns animal feed company Bardsey Mills and online business www.wormers-direct.co.uk. He was presented the award on 17 February in Birmingham by BBC Countryfile presenter Ellie Harrison.

An SQP is an animal health advisor who is entitled to prescribe and/or supply certain veterinary medicines under the veterinary medicines regulations. And the award recognises SQPs who go the extra mile to support their customers.

“I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of all SQPs, who work so hard to benefit the equestrian community” said Simon.

The award is sponsored by wormer suppliers Virbac Equine.
