Quantock huntsman abandons appeal against conviction

Somerset huntsman Richard Down has abandoned his appeal against a conviction for unlawful hunting.

The Quantock Staghounds huntsman was convicted in November of using three hounds instead of the prescribed two to hunt an injured stag in September 2009.
