Hunt staff could be fined over hunting

  • Hunt staff and Masters of Foxhounds could face fines of up to £5,000 for allowing dogs to hunt wild animals, should the government vote for a ban on hunting.

The Hunting Bill also states that the police will have rights to stop and search anyone suspected of hunting. they will also be able to detain vehicles used in hunting and confiscate and destroy dogs.

Fines have been chosen over jail terms for those who participate in hunting.

Owners of land used for hunting could also be prosecuted.
