“To win the hunter championship at Dublin, it would totally be the icing on the cake”
Rachel Moore Rooney
For Irish equestrians, nothing is more prestigious than competing at Dublin Horse Show, but the challenge for the young horses shouldn't be underestimated, as Rachel explains.
“It is a BIG ask,” she says. “The four- and five-year-olds have to do three shows before they are allowed to compete at Dublin Horse Show, which gives the ride judge a bit of reassurance as it is a massive atmosphere.”
To hear more about how Rachel first got into horses, what she enjoys about preparing raw youngsters for their first show ring performance, and how she's feeling ahead of judging at the Horse of the Year Show in October, listen to the podcast.
