New logo for British WEG teams

  • British team riders will unite under a new logo at the World Equestrian Games

Riders representing Britain at this September’s World Equestrian Games in Jerez will do so sporting a new logo – a horse’s head in the colours of the union jack.

The image will feature on clothing for all 49 competitiors across the eventing, dressage, show jumping, endurance, vaulting, driving and reining teams, as well as on equine clothing, lorries and merchandising material.

Described as “a powerful unifying image that captures the spirit of British equestrian sport“, the logo will give the British team a recognisable identity at top competitions all over the world.

Matt Straker, world class performance director and chef de mission for the World Equestrian Games believes the logo will inspire the team as a whole.

We are going to Jerez to do battle and win,” he said. “The logo combines a classical image, which is symbolic of a war horse, to acknowledge the ancient roots of equestrian sport while the modern design captures our vision for the sport in the 21st century.”

The logo was designed by The GPC, marketing and PR consultants for the British Equestrian Federation, with the cost covered by the Lottery-funded world class plan, which is supported by UK Sport and Sport England.
