Bramham announces 40th anniversary charity partner

  • Organisers of Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials have announced that this year’s 40th anniversary event (6-9 June) will be run in support of The Fire Fighters Charity.

Charity representatives will be at the event, which supports a different cause each year, raising awareness of their work and fundraising towards their £9million target.

Local specialist large animal rescue units will also be at the Bramham tradestand area, demonstrating horse rescue techniques and offering vehicle safety advice.

The Fire Fighters Charity, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, rehabilitates fire fighters after injury, trauma or illness.

It also supports retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families.
The charity has three residential rehabilitation centres in Devon, Cumbria and West Sussex.

Regional fundraiser Chrissie Fielden received rehabilitation at the centre in Penrith, Cumbria, after breaking her neck in a riding accident.

“[The Fire Fighters Charity] not only put me back on my feet, but helped me come to terms with the life changing effects of my accident,” said Chrissie.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and help us raise money so we can continue to make a real difference to the lives of people within the fire community.”
