The winter dressage championships offer talented amateur riders through to Britain’s elite professionals the chance to compete for numerous titles from prelim level through to inter I, as well as hosting the popular Petplan Equine Area Festival Championships.

These popular championships usually take place at Hartpury University & Hartpury College, Glos, in early April, with winter regional qualifiers being held throughout February and March.

The 2020 NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships were rescheduled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and were instead held from 17 to 23 August at the same venue. All classes took place outdoors and the show was run under Covid-secure rules, which meant spectators were not allowed and the usual gala evenings did not go ahead.

Horse & Hound’s reporters were on site throughout the show to bring you all the latest action with H&H Plus reports on every class, including interviews with the winners of the the prestigious prix st georges and inter I championships, as well as coverage of the Petplan Equine Area Festival Championships.

The 2021 winter dressage championships are set to run from 14 to 18 April at Hartpury, but will be subject to possible restrictions and/or rescheduling due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its implications. Stay tuned to Horse & Hound for the latest updates.
