Olympia attracts five of world’s top 10 showjumpers

Five of the top 10 showjumpers in the world will be in action at Olympia, The London International Horse Show (14-20 December) this week.

France’s Kevin Staut (pictured right), currently world number one in the Rolex Rankings, fifth-placed Rolf-Göran Bengtsson of Sweden, Australia’s Edwina Alexander (8th), Ireland’s Billy Twomey (9th), and Pénélope Leprevost of France (10th), are all making the trip to London, as is last year’s Rolex FEI World Cup jumping qualifier winner, Eric van der Vleuten.

British number one and two, Ben Maher and Guy Williams, head the British contingent alongside Michael, John, Ellen and Robert Whitaker, William Funnell, Tim Stockdale, Robert Smith, Laura Renwick, Tina Fletcher and Scott Brash.

Event director Simon Brooks-Ward says: “Olympia has a fantastic line-up of show jumping stars this year and the competition looks set to be incredibly fierce. This really is the best show jumping line-up Olympia has seen in a decade.”
