GB showjumping team chosen for St Gallen Nations Cup
Five British riders are set to travel to Switzerland next week for the third FEI Nations Cup of the 2011 season, St Gallen (2-5 June).
The riders are Scott Brash, Ben Maher, Nick Skelton, Robert Smith and Tim Stockdale.
Scott Brash will partner his World Equestrian Games horse Intertoy Z who is owned by his father, Stanley.
This combination made their first appearance at this level last year in La Baule where they put in a solid performance, jumping clear in the second round.
Ben Maher from Hertfordshire and Tripple X III have recently returned from Linz where they won the €80,000 Grand Prix.
Tripple X III is a nine-year-old black stallion whom Ben jointly owns with Quainton Stud.
Warwickshire’s Nick Skelton will ride Beverly Widdowson’s 10-year-old grey stallion, Carlo.

They were members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team which finished in overall fourth and are at Rome this weekend, for the second Nations Cup of the series.
Another Warwickshire rider Robert Smith with the scopey eleven-year-old bay stallion Talan, a horse he jointly owns with Di and Pennie Cornish, will join the team.
Robert and Talan were also members of the La Baule FEI Nations Cup team.
King George V Gold Cup winners Tim Stockdale and Fresh Direct Kalico Bay are also off to Switzerland.
The ten-year-old bay gelding is owned by Colin Garrett, a long standing owner of Tim’s. Tim is based in Northampton.
Accompanying squad will be World Class showjumping performance Manager Rob Hoekstra who will also be acting as chef d’equipe.
