Ben Maher hit top form with new ride Gem Of India at Shrewsbury Flower Show (10-11 August). The Essex-based man netted £2,500 after heading the two top classes — the GKN Sankey Area Trial and Kia Motors Grand Prix.

Jackson Reed-Stephenson snatched the £1,000-to-the-winner Tilney Private Wealth Management Speed on Goldex, demoting Amanda Derbyshire with Retreats Oakie Doakie.

An early draw for Derek Morton proved fruitful when Tony and Di Watson’s Skerne Skyetality stayed ahead in the Frank Tanner Memorial Cup Speed.
