The Royal Show
The organisers of the Royal Show (1-4 July) have reinstated 110 of the 166 entrants who had their entries returned owing to staffing problems and computer glitches.
H&H reported on the chaos surrounding the show last week (news, 21 June), but Royal Show manager Simon Frere-Cook said he believed a satisfactory conclusion had been reached.
In a statement released to H&H, he explained: “We have been working around the clock to contact every competitor. Of the 166 entrants, we’ve contacted 136; 110 of those have been reinstated and we are awaiting entry forms from the remaining 26.”
Mr Frere-Cook said of the other 30 entries, there are just 14 with whom the Royal Show has had no phone communication — but it has now contacted them by post.
