Farewell to showing stalwart

  • Showing owner Peter Wilson died on 7 December, after complications following a heart operation at the age of 69.

Mr Wilson owned many successful horses and ponies including Royal International (RIHS) show pony winner Kingsford Diana and Horse of the Year (HOYS) champion Diptford Amazing Grace as well as Mountcaulfield Freedom and Wilderness Carmen.

Mr Wilson was also a popular judge, served on the BSPS national council and was a great supporter of Ponies (UK).

“Peter will be sorely missed by many of his friends — his kindness and support were legendary and so were his wit and humour,” said close friend and former British Show Horse Association chairman Nigel Hollings.

“Peter was full of fun and to be in his company was magical. That’s how the equestrian world will always remember him.”
