  • Former amateur jockey and super slimmer Jean Luc Guillambert, is set to ride in a competitive race for the first time in 26 years for charity.

The 58-year-old from Newmarket has shed four stone in six months to race in the Newmarket Town Plate charity race on August 23.

Mr Guillambert is seeking a bookie to back him at 66-1 so that he can bet on himself and donate the winnings to racing charity, Racing Welfare.

He said: “I feel great. I used to feel pregnant.” Mr Guillambert was 17 stone 6 in January but a diet of fruit, soup, and water has slimmed him down.
