Moscow Flyer’s Twitter account went live on Sunday (18 April) and he will be tweeting on horse welfare issues for the charity.

The Jessica Harrington-trained winner of the Arkle Challenge Trophy and Queen Mother Champion chase is now the equine ambassador for the Wicklow-based charity.

Moscow Flyer arrived at the IHWT’s cente in Ballinamona, Woodenbridge in April 2006.

He will keep followers updated with his life at the farm and is hoping to be a hit around the world — given the special cause he represents and, of course, his celebrity status.

“Moscow has a wonderful life here, here is an ambassador and voice for the rescued horses that come through our gates each year,” said Sharon Newsome co founder of Irish Horse Welfare Trust.

“While we always knew he was a very talented and special horse, we were surprised that he was so up to speed with the latest social media….what next?”

The Welfare Centre specialises in dealing with hundreds of cases of neglect and cruelty and is Ireland’s only dedicated Equine Welfare Charity. making a difference as the voice of equines in Ireland.
