The Hartpury New Equestrian Voice of the Year Competition took a step closer to finding a winner this month, as the finalists were announced by Mike Tucker, who launched the initiative.
Mike is delighted with the interest the competition has created, with more than 200 entries received by organisers Grandstand Media Ltd.
Forty candidates made it to the next round of judging, but there could only be a few finalists, and the talented people making their way down to the Hickstead Derby for 14 August are:
- Mr Philip Ghazala from Somerset
- Mr Roger Hooker from Middlesex
- Mr David Luck from Wiltshire
Each finalist will be given the opportunity to try their luck in the hot seat at the Derby, and show off their skills.
The winner is to be announced at the end of August, and will receive a £500 voice-training bursary as well as a place in Mike Tucker’s commentary team at the Horse of the Year Show 2003.
