A strong international line-up will contest the Arabian International Horse Festival’s FEI two-day 160km ride at Fontwell Park, this weekend.
Huge UAE and Irish contingents are set to join long-listed British combinations such as Candy Cameron with her French-bred Derik, Liz Platts on Zilzal and Beccy Broughton with Zapala. Sue Dando takes the ride on Jenny Jackson’s Hannah.
Sarah Kelleway leaves her WEG horse, Ibn Aswana, at home in favour of Kosmik, her stallion, while Susan Hawes takes the ride on Pauline Beech’s ArBihan.
Shelagh Bunn is to ride the exceptional Tokar Ibn Teelah, and, of former internationals, Jo Trego’s Sahirra Silver Moon steps up for his first two-day FEI contest, as does Cathy Brown’s Arques Khazana.
Jane James, British national champion in 2002, will be bringing Rowengay Garnet (Alfie). Two young riders to watch are Fiona Hamilton, on home ground with Courtside, and Anna Welch with Delchina.
