Record prize money of £925,000 on offer for 2010 Grand National
A record prize fund will be offer at next year’s Grand National.
A total of £925,000 will be won in the 2010 race, which will be held at Aintree racecourse on Saturday 10 April.
This is an increase of £25,000 on the 2009 prize fund.
“We are delighted to announce an increase in the prize fund for our flagship race, the John Smith’s Grand National,” said Julian Thick, managing director of Aintree racecourse.
“The total prize fund for our three-day meeting, at over £2.5million, will, I’m sure, once again attract the stellar fields that both John Smith’s and ourselves have come to expect.”
Current favourites for the 2010 Grand National are Tricky Trickster, Niche Market, Black Apalachi, Vic Venturi and 2008 winner Comply Or Die.
Entries for the race close on 2 February 2010.
