Paralympic dressage rider Sophie Wells to talk at BETA conference

  • Team Paralympic gold medal-winning dressage rider Sophie Wells is one of the key speakers at this year’s BETA conference.

The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) 2012 conference and AGM will take place next month in Northamptonshire.

The event will be held at Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa, near Towcester on Monday 29 October.

It is open to BETA members and non-members and offers an “inspiring and informative” programme of presentations.

As well as Sophie, speakers on the day will include Guy Blaskey, marketing director ofBlue Chip Feeds and owner of Pooch and Mutt, focusing on growing sales through online media.

Felicity Hails, of Lloyds TSB, will be giving tips on how to improve relationships with banks and Paul Kelly, of Blacks Solicitors, is to explain what employers need to know about social media.

Todd McCully, of Government Grant and Tax Consultants, will be asking who’s missing out on funding for research and development and Michael McNally, a partner at Warners Solicitors, will advise how to avoid the pitfalls of distance selling.

“The conference is a fantastic way to top up on industry knowledge and keep abreast of all that is happening in the trade, and there’s plenty of time to catch up with colleagues and make valuable new contacts during coffee breaks and over lunch,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams.

“Great care has been taken to ensure that the programme is relevant to all delegates, from manufacturers to retailers, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the beautiful surroundings of Whittlebury Hall – our new venue for 2012.”

The conference runs from 9am to 3.40pm and costs £45 plus VAT for members and £60 plus VAT for non-members.
