HOYS 2004 box office opens

  • The box office for the Horse of the Year Show (6-10 October) is now open. Visitors to this year’s show, held at the Birmingham NEC for the third year, can look forward to the regular favourites as well as some exciting new additions to the programme.

The world’s top Icelandic ponies will, for the first time in the UK, show off their attributes, such as the breed’s unique gait and “Flying Frenchman” Lorenzo (pictured) will execute stunts with his expertly trained team of star equine performers.

These acts join a line-up that includes the Household Cavalry’s new musical ride, Pony Club mounted games, and national and international show jumping.

Friday will, in addition to Saturday and Sunday, be a “Gold Ticket” day, meaning that gold tickets are valid for both daytime and evening performances. The shopping pavilion, with the usual huge array of retailers, is this year sponsored by Equivoucher, the new national gift voucher scheme for equestrian goods.

Tickets, in four price bands, cost from £19.50 for adults and £16 for children and senior citizens. Discounts are available for groups of 12-plus. Contact the box office (tel: 08700 101052) or for groups (tel: 020 8900 9282). Or book tickets online at: www.hoys.co.uk
