Horseman’s bookshop to close
The end of 2000 will also mark the end of an era for JA Allen & Co, as the famous Grosvenor Place Horseman’s Bookshop will close on 30 December.
Earlier this year, 50 per cent of the shares in JA Allen & Co were purchased by Weatherbys and in August, the mail-order part of the business was moved to that company’s headquarters in Wellingborough.
Weatherbys Allen will continue to operate as a mail-order business and the mobile show unit will remain under the management of David Grieves.
