Hickstead has not secured a title sponsor for its British Jumping Derby this June, but has new support for the Speed Derby.
Due to the lack of sponsor, the organisers have taken steps to finance the class — but stress this is for one year only, as they remain hopeful a sponsor will be in place for the 2014 event. The class needs a sponsor in order to secure its future.
Digital screen company LED Sport Europe has taken on the title sponsorship of the Speed Derby — the feature class on the Saturday of the British Jumping Derby Meeting (19-23 June).
The company also sponsored Hickstead Master’s Challenge in 2012.
“LED Sport Europe is delighted to be headline sponsors of the Hickstead Speed Derby and to be associating our brand with such a prestigious sporting venue, which attracts many top riders and horses,” said Ed de Lucy of LED Sport Europe.
The company will also be supplying big screens and LED perimeter boards — a first for Hickstead.
“This is an exciting new development,” said Hickstead’s Lizzie Bunn. “With LED Sport Europe’s technology, we are moving into the 21st Century and enhancing the live sport experience.”
