Footballer Wayne Rooney buys two more racehorses

  • England and Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney has bought two more racehorses.

The two-year-old colts were bought at the recent Kempton breeze up sales.

Last December Wayne and his wife Coleen bought their first racehorse – a two-year-old colt by Bahamian Bounty, which they named Switcharooney.

And the couple now have two more – Tomway, a chestnut colt by by Sakhee’s Secret out of Mi Amor and Pippy, a bay colt by Exceed and Excel out of Gandini.

The horses will be in training at Tom Dascombe’s Cheshire Yard, Manor House Stables, owned by Wayne’s teammate Michael Owen.

They will run in the couple’s pink and white silks.

The Manor House Stables website states: “Wayne has obviously caught the bug, as he’s now got three horses in training.”
