Students to sit end-of-year exams at national riding final

  • What do you do if your end-of-year exams clash with a national riding final?

Sit the exams in your riding gear in between classes, of course.

A team of students from the Royal Veterinary College were thrilled to have won a spot on at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) national finals, held at Hartpury next week (11-13 June).

But they were less than impressed to find the event clashed with some of their exams.

“We were all incredibly disappointed,” said team captain Meredith Jarman. “We racked our brains to try to come up with a solution, but our university couldn’t change the dates and hope was fading.”

But some quick thinking from the girls, plus a little help from the two education centres, meant they can now combine the two — albeit with some dashing around. They will be sitting their exams in a Hartpury classroom before rushing off to compete straight afterwards.

“We are all ecstatic we can take part,” added Meredith.
