Strangles tests on horses on a Lambourn yard have come back negative.
A yearling filly at trainer Stan Moore’s Berkley House Stables yard tested positive for strangles last week (14 October) after arriving from Ireland three weeks earlier.
Mr Moore was forced to close down temporarily to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease, but is hopeful to be back in action by the end of the week.
An update on the trainer’s website said: “Over the weekend we have continued to monitor the horses – taking temperatures, etc – and are pleased to report that the swab tests our vet took on Friday have all come back negative.
“Further tests will now be taken today and we are hoping that the Jockey Club Estates will allow us to start using the gallops again.
“The horses are still being kept busy on the walker and in the lunge ring and we are cracking on well with the yearlings.”
