Llangeinor huntsman to run 50-mile Taff Trail

  • While many people might choose to mark their 60th birthday with a special meal or a night out at the theatre, not so Llangeinor huntsman Alex Ford.

Alex will celebrate by limbering up for a 50-mile run.

On 22 May, committee member and former chairman of the Union of Country Sports Workers (UCSW) will start out from Brecon and run the 50-mile Taff Trail.

His run will take him through the Brecon Beacons National Park, past Cyfarthfa Castle and Castell Cock, and finishing at Cardiff Castle.

Alex is raising money both for the UCSW and for the Chloe Bigmore Trust, which provides grants, funding and other support to help children and their families who have been affected by cancer and other related life-limiting conditions.

He aims to complete the run in eight-and-a-half hours — 10min per mile.

To support Alex by donating money, visit www.ucsw.org.
