Winter championships move to Hartpury

  • After seven years at Solihull Riding Club in the West Midlands, next April’s Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships and Event Insurance Winter Dressage Championship are moving to Hartpury Arena, Gloucestershire.

Kelvin Bywater of Show Direct, who organises both championships, said: “The move will provide a greater choice for competitors.”

Additional arena space means there will be more show jumping classes, including qualifiers for a new small grand prix series.

David Holmes from British Dressage said: “Solihull has been great, but with more members and interest in competing through the winter, we needed a bigger venue.”

More competitors will qualify for the Petplan Equine Championships that run alongside the winter dressage championships.
