Lee Pearson acquires new Paralympic horse

  • Triple Paralympic gold medallist Lee Pearson has bought a horse he hopes has potential for the Beijing 2008 Paralympics. Lee bought Gentleman, a six-year-old Hanoverian gelding, from Germany through Christian Heinrich.

“Christian worked hard to find a six-year-old future superstar,” said Lee. “He’s got an enormous floaty trot and has a nice brain, but he’s quite green and has only done one competition in Germany.”

The Potential horses for Beijing are to be announced in January, so Lee had limited time to secure a horse having retired his Athens ride, Blue Circle Boy, before the World Championships in July.

“I’m used to throwing myself in at the deep end,” he said.
