Young Horse championship at HOYS

  • The SEIB/BEF Young Horse Evaluation Series Championships will take place at the Horse of the Year Show

The final of the South Essex Insurance Brokers/BEF Young Horse Evaluation Series, which has been developed to find British-bred young horses with Olympic potential, will be held at the Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s NEC (9-13 October).

Separate classes for young dressage horses, show jumpers and event horses will be held at the end of the afternoon performance in the Horse & Hound Arena on Thursday 10, Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October.

Horses taking part in the final will have been selected from seven evaluation days opento four year-olds registered with British Breed Societies. Each horse will be assessed for conformation, type and way of going by a panel of at least three judges of international calibre.

“We are delighted that the finals are being held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show,” said Graham Suggett, consultant director of breeding for the BEF. “It is an event to which all equestrians aspire and now will provide the perfect showcase for the horses of the future.”
