Focus on Golden Heights

  • Golden Heights is a 16.2hh dark bay Throughbred with nine and a quarter inches of bone. A winner of five races, he retired to stud sound.

He is a top class stallion with superb movement who passes on class, movement and ability to his stock, enabling them to be successful in any equestrian sport.

By one of the most successful Mill Reef stallions, Shirley Heights, Golden Heights has an equally impressive dam line, being out of a Blakeney mare who is out of a Crepello mare. Both sire and dam lines have produced winners in all the major classics, while Blakeney has also produced many National Hunt champions.

Golden Heights won five races before we bought him out of training to produce three-day event horses. He was destined to go into National Hunt training.

He is proving to be one of the most influential and versatile Thoroughbred stallions at stud. All his stock are outstanding movers and have enjoyed highly successful show careers both in hand and under saddle to championship level, before moving on to prove their versatility as event and or dressage horses. Some of his offspring have been bred specifically for the show ring with outstanding results.

His event horses have been successful at novice, intermediate, OI and one star three-day level, with many expected to compete in more advanced events from this year.

His dressage horses have been admired by judges due to their excellent movement and are competing successfully from novice to advanced level. A number of his progency are expected to more up through the grades during the coming year.

The results of his stock in BSJA competitions are also impressive as many are event horses training before they go eventing. Golden Heights has winners at Newcomers, Foxhunter and Grade C level to date.

He is also successful with his Thoroughbred racing stock, having produced winners on the flat as two and three-year olds, as well as over hurdles, in point-to-points and in bumper races. His chasers have not yet began their careers over fences.
