Carmarthenshire Hunt supports air ambulance

  • The Carmarthenshire Hunt celebrated the end of the season by presenting a £520 cheque to Wales Air Ambulance.

At the closing meet on 17 March, 60 riding members and numerous foot followers applauded as the money they had raised during the season was presented to Alan Davies of Wales Air Ambulance.

Secretary for Carmarthenshire Hunt Linda Lake was particularly pleased the money was donated to Wales Air Ambulance, as her 12-year-old granddaughter Jessica was airlifted to hospital while out hunting last season.

“Jessica was airlifted to Withybush Hospital after she fell and her horse rolled on her. Because of the remoteness of the area where she fell, only the air ambulance could get to her. Thankfully she was ok,” said Linda.

In the future, Carmarthenshire Hunt hopes to give to charity on a regular basis. “Considering the hunt was on the verge of folding a few months ago, we now seem to be going from strength to strength and hope to make charity donations a regular occurrence,” said a hunt spokesperson.
