  • Television presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle has become a racehorse owner for the first time through Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.

Ben, who has completed a gruelling voyage to the south pole covering 481 miles and more recently undertaken a 450-mile journey across Britain in a Rickshaw, has last week became a share holder in two young racehorses.

Both racehorses are yet unnamed. One is in training with William Haggas, the other with Jeremy Noseda.

Ben hopes they will make their racecourse debut next April.

“I have always enjoyed horseracing and my wife Marina has always been a huge horse enthusiast so we are very excited about our recent involvement with Highclere. Hopefully we will have a lot fun watching them race next season,” said Ben.

Harry Herbert, managing director of Highclere added: “I am absolutely thrilled that Ben has come on board. I am very excited about this year’s yearlings who look like a very exciting group and hopefully there are some stars among them.

“Ben knows all about adrenalin rushes and I very much hope that his involvement in Highclere will give him a different one.”
